Grrr, Cubase problems. :P
Brrrr! Ok, I put everything else I have to do or finish on hold and sat down to work on new music today. The whole studio setup is working now and Cubase is configured correctly and all. Or so I thought.
I spent the first two hours of today checking out the soundbanks I had put together on the K2000 when I got it new some years ago, to see which sounds I had selected back then.
Finally I wanted to start on a track, something simple for starters, and recorded a first bassline. Only now a major problem showed up that didn't turn up with everything I did before:
The midi recording in Cubase is messed up - every midi event that occurs actually gets recorded like a second *behind* the cursor and of course out of synch with the tact because of that. AAAAAAGH!
The hardware that has got to do with sound and midi in this computer still is exactly the same as when I last time made music, and I can't remember having to deal with this at ALL when I last worked on Cubase. Dobbelyouteheff!!!
I just tried until now to find a possible cause for this in one of the many options in cubase, but I couldn't work it out. Next thing is I registered for the steinberg forums and try to find some help in there. Bah!

I don't know what I did that changed anything, but I THINK that I got it working now. But I can tell you more after I maybe like slept a little first... :)
