The Roland Vintage Synth Module ROOOOOOCKS!
I had one or two final glitches to track down in my Studio setup, but I did and just spent the afternoon listening to the sounds of the Roland Vintage Synth module that I have never used before (except to see if it's working some years back when I bought it). And WOW, I really like what I hear - there's a whole crapload of classic synth sounds on there that sound really fascinating (not to forget familiar) if you're a fan of the classics like Jarre or Tangerine Dream. Nnnnice! :)
By far the coolest sounds, I have to say, are the classic Melotron (*) sounds; the "Kraftwerk Radioactivity"-choir, the "Tangerine Dream Solo"-Strings and, of course, the "Beatles Strawberry Fields"-Flutes. Siiiiiigh, I wanted these absolute classics for so long (**) and now they're there, sounding bloody real too. :)
The new mixer (Behringer Eurodesk **) works like a treat too, now I have understood how effects can be routed on it - it allows a much better control over which instrument does what than my old one, also there's almost no background hiss I have to filter anymore (compared to the old one).
And then there is, of course, the synth I always wanted and finally (yesyes, shuttup: **) own - the Kurzweil K2000... This is going to be so much fun! :)
Ok, for now I take a break, do some housework I've been ignoring for way too long again, but I'd say I'll be back with something new to listen to pretty soon. :)))!
(*) Yes, I know, they're not actually Melotron but Polytron (I believe it's called) sounds, but what the heck - they sound like what I wanted. :) Bliss!
(**) Yesyes, I do realize that I had them for five years or so standing around here already, but as mentioned above only tested once and never used, in my long non-music-writing-time, so that doesn't count. :)
