We are the music makers, and we are the dreamers of dreams!
This is allmost ridiculous - in the one short month (give or take a few days) I've been on myspace now I allready got more feedback than I *ever* got on my homepage, even though I web 2.0'ed this place a year ago, so people can comment, nag or praise (yah, right ^^) pretty easily. Cool.
Let's be honest - if you make music it's a BIG ego booster if someone not only listens to it but also lets you know how he likes it. Feedback is the applause of a homestudio producer. :)
But it's not just the feedback that positively surprised me - another thing I didn't expect was how many people who are in my music collection for years allready, some even dating back to LP record times (that's the big black disks old people listened to when they were younger ^^) actually take the time and write back when you contact them. It's as if a wall between "pros" and "amateurs" (to which I still count myself somehow) came down - here it feels as if it's just "us" music makers. :) A real community feeling with no more big and small as in the olden days.
Damn, even some of my personal *heroes*, musicians and or groups who to me and my own musical development are extremely important all of a sudden are just next door, so to say! My inner fanboy allready did several saltos backwards!
And there's really loads of cool new talents to discover - I dare you to check some of the groups in my friendslist, there's great stuff to be found!
No matter what happens with my music in the future, it was a good idea to open a myspace page. :O)
