One way to fight piracy for the companies that works and doesn't include lawsuits at all:

Simply make the content available online yourself.

Examples for this are http://www.thedailyshow.com/ or http://southparkstudios.com - pages from Comedy Central that simply allow you to *legally* get all the episodes from two of the most famous pirated shows. Defenitely some people begin to "get" the new media out there. :)
