Lux actually was meant as an intro for a live performance that never was realised - in the beginning the hall was meant to be completely dark with an empty stage and only the lights of the machines were to be seen. Media Control was the starter of the “Brot für die Jugend” tape. It’s a kind of collage that features a lot of random TV-noise: Announcers, actors, jingles and stuff like that. Even though the equipment was really low-tech (only the MT32, an Amiga instead of a sampler and the TV was mixed in “live” during the recording) in these days I still like the hypnotic beating of this track.

Now here’s a cutie - baH! is perhaps one of the first tracks done with lyrics in Klingoneese ever. This one’s a small homage to Laibach’s and Test Dept.’s way of using classic elements in their works. It’s nothing special but it still sounds nice. :)

It’s time for stompin’ - Wavebeat was meant to be danced to in the clubs I was going to in those days and it even worked. It’s “mainstream” EBM (if there’s anything like it) and it was one of my very first tracks done with the Wavestation.

This is, IMHO, the best Kobayashi Maru ever got until now. The arrangement is cool, the beats are groovy and the lyrics... The lyrics... At one evening I sat down and I collected sentences that were running around the media in those days, changed and mixed them a bit, and finally got a wonderful piece of nonsense.  read more »

Man - did I have a bad time when I wrote this bad excuse for lyrics or what? Here you have the perfect example for a guy with wayyyy too much time on his hand, really bored and depressed. After all the girls are ignoring him all the time...

Today I actually think the tune is a bit ridiculous - especially because the arrangement comes really close to a “The Klinik”-ripp off... ;-)

This one’s not only one of my favourite Kobayashi Maru productions but one of the best tracks I *ever* did. I don’t know why, but here everything fits together - dark lyrics about an over-technological world, really *electronic* sounds and the computer voice (from the Commodore Amiga) - it simply works.  read more »
